Background:

Elaine is a graduate from both Strathclyde (Glasgow) and Queen Margaret’s (Edinburgh) universities, where she gained both Bachelor of Art degree, which included all the teaching modules at that time, and Master’s level qualification, in nursing and clinical leadership, which very much involved role modelling, coaching, mentorship and of course leadership.

She has over 30 years of nursing experience within the NHS, is a published researcher and latterly worked as an advanced nurse practitioner.  During this time, she also formed part of a clinical faculty providing education for both trained and untrained staff.

In 2010 she was co-founder of ACAP Scotland (Acute Care Advanced Practise) http://acapscotland.org ,which facilitated & provided a platform for advanced  practice in nursing & is now embedded within the nursing profession. As a result of this work Elaine worked closely with the head of nursing at Scottish Government level.

In addition, Elaine has developed her teaching skills working as a part time lecturer in a local college and privately throughout the UK and Irish Republic teaching a variety of clinical and advanced clinical skills.

To support her teaching skills, Elaine is a qualified SQA assessor, holding D32/33 assessors’ qualifications.

Since 2013 Elaine has become a local businesswoman in the field of aesthetics, cosmetics, complementary therapies and skin care.  This business continues to grow and evolve making it one of the most successful small businesses within Lanarkshire
